The Sound of Ideas

Description
Birth control has come a long way from the time when ignorance, social taboos and desperation led to dangerous and even deadly methods, such as ingesting poisonous herbs. On a special "Science Cafe" edition of the Sound of Ideas Monday, we'll explore the science and social attitudes toward contraception and birth control through the ages and talk about advances that have created so many more safe and effective options today.

Guests:

Tony P. Tizzano, MD, Obstetrician and Medical Director, The Cleveland Clinic Family Health Center of Wooster

Jim M. Edmonson, Phd, Chief Curator of Dittrick Medical History Center and Museum, Case Western Reserve University
