Description
President Obama said again on Wednesday that a secure energy future for the United States must include tapping reserves of natural gas, an ocean of which lies inside shale formations thousands of feet under Ohio. Meanwhile, Governor Kasich proposes opening state parks to natural gas drilling and big energy companies are buying up property. Can the gas be extracted without causing environmental harm? Do potential benefits outweigh risks?

Guests:

Ron Prosek, Vice President, Northeast Ohio Gas and Accountability Project

Dr. Beverly Saylor, Associate Professor of Geological Sciences, Case Western Reserve University

Tom Stewart, Executive Vice President, Ohio Oil and Gas Association
