In 1809, Stark County was created. It's located in the northeast quadrant of the state with Canton as its county seat. When the current courthouse was built in 1895, they kept part of the previous courthouse including the main courtroom, which was built in 1869. Canton is home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
