Press Conference

Description
State Representative Bob Hackett (R-London) holds a press conference on House Bill 349, also known as Destiny's Law. The legislation would establish an additional mandatory prison term of five to 10 years if someone is convicted of or pleads guilty to a felony offense of violence and to a specification that the victim suffered permanent disabling harm.

Rep. Hackett is joined by Andy Wilson from the Clark County Prosecutor's office.

House Bill 349 is named after Destiny Shepherd, who received permanent brain injuries after being violently shaken at the age of one by her mother's former boyfriend. Randi Shepherd, Destiny's mother, also joins Rep. Hackett at the press conference.
