The Ballot Board meets to approve ballot language, explanations and arguments for the May Primary public works bond issue. The Board also directs the means by which the Secretary of State shall disseminate information concerning the proposed constitutional amendment to the voters, and directs the Secretary of State to contract for the publication in a newspaper of general circulation in each county in the state of the ballot language, explanation, and arguments regarding the proposed constitutional amendment.
Senate Joint Resolution No. 6 permits the issuance of additional general obligation bonds to fund public infrastructure capital improvements.
Secretary of State Jon Husted serves as chair of the Ballot Board and oversees the board's proceedings. Other members of the Ballot Board include: State Senator Bill Coley; State Senator Nina Turner; Mark Griffin; and William N. Morgan. Ballot Board meetings are open to the public.
