A new Florida law bans spending on Diversity Equity and Inclusion and prohibits public colleges from teaching about systemic racism and sexism - to name two issues.
Ohio is not an outlier. So far, 20 states, including Ohio, have proposed or enacted bills that would prohibit mandatory diversity training, along with a host of other changes that could reshape higher education.
The proposed or enacted legislation mirror language in Ohio Senate bill 83 that would ban strikes, curtail open debate and discussion, and issue parameters governing classroom content.
