All Sides with Ann Fisher

Description
Six of the eight people killed last week in shootings at three Atlanta-area spas were Asian American women.

Across the country, weekend protests called for an end to racist violence and hate toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, a trend that watchdog groups say has been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Today on All Sides with Ann Fisher, we examine what the Atlanta shootings and other incidents of AAPI-targeted violence say about our society and how organizations are responding.

Guests:
Cameron McWhirter, Atlanta-based reporter, the Wall Street Journal
Michelle Ye Hee Lee, national reporter, the Washington Post; and president of the Asian American Journalists Association
state Sen. Tina Maharath, D--District 3 (Columbus)
Dr. Melissa Borja, core faculty member in the Asian / Pacific Islander American Studies program at the University of Michigan
