The State of Ohio - The Governor's Energy PLan

SEGMENT 1: Big businesses and consumer group say shocking energy bills could zap Ohioans in the next year. Gov. Ted Strickland made energy concerns a top priority early in the year, and now he and his top advisers on electricity and alternative sources of power have been expending a lot of energy this week, conducting press conferences about the governor's plan for an official energy policy. Here to talk about the governor's plan are two of the key players involved in it - Strickland's energy adviser, Mark Shanahan, and the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, Alan Schreiber.

SEGMENT 2: The governor's energy plan has had a powerful effect on lawmakers in both parties. Some Democratic lawmakers in the House have put forward their own proposal, and Republicans have been signaling that they're supportive of the governor's plan. But there are some Republicans who don't feel Strickland's plan goes far enough in some areas. A few of them have come up with an alternative alternative-energy proposal. Rep. Jim McGregor (R-Gahanna) is here to talk about it.

SEGMENT 3: And one final note for PBS viewers who'll be tuning in to watch the long-awaited project from filmmaker Ken Burns. Among the collected stories in his documentary "The War" is an interview with Former Ohio Governor John Gilligan, who agreed to share his stories of World War II with his daughter, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
