The State of Ohio - State School Board; Governor's Awards for the Arts

HEADLINES: The investigation into sexual harassment claims in the Ohio Attorney General's office goes on, with new details. Meanwhile, Dann is one of 18 state attorneys general asking the U.S. Supreme Court to rule against companies that retaliate when employees claim sexual harassment. The long-awaited energy bill will have to wait even longer. Death penalty cases in Ohio will likely resume again, now that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled on a lethal injection case out of Kentucky.

ROUNDTABLE SEGMENT: The governor's plan to take over the state school board is getting mixed grades from lawmakers. There are reports this week that Gov. Ted Strickland and members of the state school board are meeting privately to talk about a plan to oust state schools superintendent Susan Tave Zelman.

On set to discuss the proposal is Rep. Randy Gardner (R-Bowling Green), who's dealt extensively with education issues in the House and in his years in the Senate; and Rep. Vernon Sykes (D-Akron), who is back in the House after a break because of term limits. He's also worked on education issues, and serves as the director of a program that offers selected college students a chance to live in Columbus and study the workings of government.

FEATURE SEGMENT: This week the best of Ohio's arts community and those who support the creative talents within it were honored at the Governor's Awards for the Arts.
