Play

The governor-elect adds more cabinet members, and the leaders of the Senate talk about what's ahead.Gov.-elect John Kasich's cabinet is closer to completion - he's appointed directors for three agencies, including the prisons department. And he's adding venture capitalist Mark Kvamme to head up his Department of Development, an agency he plans to privatize. The first round of swearing in has begun - the House and Senate were sworn in on Monday. Next Monday, John Kasich will be sworn in, and it will be an open ceremony after all.

The November election brought big changes to the House and the governor's office, but the change isn't as dramatic in the Ohio Senate. The GOP already held the Senate, and the election strengthened its hold there. But Democrats say they still have a role to play. Senate President Tom Niehaus (R-New Richmond) and Senate Minority leader Capri Cafaro (D-Hubbard) talk about that and more.
