The Sound of Ideas - Abortion Changes in Ohio

Play

A bill that proposes Ohio prohibit abortions after 20 weeks gestation is sitting on the Governor's desk waiting to be signed. However, that legislation is separate from the "Heartbeat" bill, which would ban abortions after a heartbeat has been detected often around five weeks. The Heartbeat bill has passed the House, but hasn't been taken up by the Senate. These two bills are among the seven abortion-related bills taken up by the Republican-dominated state legislature since January.
