NW Ohio Journal - Election Special

This week, WBGU-PBS' NW Ohio Journal is an Election Special on Thursday, November 29, at
8 pm, featuring a discussion of the issues facing the candidates running for Ohio's 5th District Congressional seat. A special election will be held December 11th to determine who will represent the district.

Host Larry Weiss, retired Associate Vice President for University Relations and Governmental Affairs at BGSU, is joined in the WBGU-PBS studio by: Jack Palmer, journalist Defiance Crescent News, Dave Miller, editor and chief Sentinel-Tribune and Dr. Melissa Miller of the Bowling Green State University Political Science Department.

When this program was initially scheduled, in the beginning of October, it was hoped that the candidates for the special December 11th election would join us for this program. Invitations were extended to both candidates, but they declined and are not able to attend.

Viewers may submit questions for the program ahead of time on the NW Ohio Journal discussion board, or call in during this live program.

Two-minute videos WBGU-PBS recorded of each of the candidates, describing their stances on issues facing the 5th District, can be viewed on the NW Ohio Journal Special Election web page.

NW Ohio Journal programs also can be viewed in their entirety online at the WBGU-PBS website the day after the program airs. Viewers can voice their opinions on the online discussion board and vote for the candidates in the NW Ohio Journal weekly poll.
