FORECLOSURE PREVENTION ADVERTISING
Major multi-media initiative designed to help Ohioans stay in their homes.

The Ohio Department of Commerce launches its new multi-media public awareness campaign - including television and radio advertising, an information-rich Web site, and a telephone hotline - aimed at helping Ohioans prevent foreclosure.

Ohio's foreclosure rate is among the highest in the nation, and the goal of this new initiative is to help as many Ohio citizens as possible to stay in their homes.

Lt. Governor Lee Fisher and Director of Commerce Kimberly Zurz outline the campaign, which is the State of Ohio's most recent initiative to support the number one recommendation from Governor Ted Strickland's Foreclosure Prevention Task Force: Develop a public awareness campaign and borrower outreach events. Director Zurz chaired the Task Force.

In addition to Director Zurz and Lt. Governor Fisher, who also serves as Director of the Ohio Department of Development, the news conference also includes a local housing counselor and a homeowner who took action to make sure her home did not fall into foreclosure.
