Feagler and Friends - Three New Presidents

We open 2008 by visiting with three new presidents of northeast Ohio institutions of higher learning.

Barbara R. Snyder has been serving since early summer of 2007 as president of Case Western Reserve University. She's formerly the provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at The Ohio State University. A graduate of Ohio State, she has taught law at both universities. Snyder is the first woman to serve as president of Case Western.

Michael T. Victor is the eleventh president of Lake Erie College in Painesville, a school that opened in 1859 as the Lake Erie Female Seminary. The school has been co-ed since 1985 and now enrolls just over 1000 students in a four-year liberal arts curriculum that includes an equine studies program and a health-related pre-professional program.

Marvin Krislov was inaugurated as the 14th president of Oberlin College in early November. Mr. Krislov came to Oberlin after nearly ten years as a vice president and general counsel at the University of Michigan. He was in charge of the legal team that successfully defended the university's race-based admission policy. He's a native of northeast Ohio.
