Roundtable: Laura Johnston, reporter, The Plain Dealer; Jay Miller, reporter, Crain's Cleveland Business; Jill Miller Zimon, blogger, Writes Like She Talks.

Former Captives Say Thanks

Three Cleveland women held captive for a decade on Seymour Avenue said in a video statement this week they're grateful for the support they've received from the community. While thankful, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight indicated they would appreciate continued support in the form of respect for their privacy. Their captor, Ariel Castro, was found competent to stand trial last week.

Beacon Journal Leans In

Akron's daily newspaper says it will starting offering seven-day home delivery in Strongsville, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Hinckley, North Royalton and Brunswick. The announcement comes less than a month before the region's biggest daily, The Plain Dealer, trims home delivery to four days-a-week.

Support for Gay Marriage

Former state Chancellor Jim Petro offered his support for the campaign to overturn Ohio's ban on gay marriage. A group called Freedom Ohio is circulating petitions aimed at getting a repeal on the ballot in the fall of 2014. Petro's daughter Corbin is lesbian and legally married to her partner in Massachusetts. Petro joins Ohio Senator Rob Portman in supporting gay marriage.

Second Acts in Political Life

Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer wants to run for New York City comptroller while former Congressman Anthony Weiner is running for Mayor. Both left political life in disgrace after misbehavior involving women they were not married to. Now they're hoping for political comebacks. We'll contrast their return with the drearier prospects for celebrity chef Paula Deen who appears headed for permanent exile after admitting she used racial epithets.

Special Guest: Sheryl Harris, consumer columnist for The Plain Dealer
