Feagler and Friends - Senator Sherrod Brown, (D) Ohio

Newsmaker: Senator Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio

With the retirement of George Voinovich, Mr. Brown this year became Ohio's senior U.S. Senator. He assumed office in 2007 after defeating incumbent Mike DeWine in a close race and is just about to complete his first term. Prior to winning the Senate race, Brown was a member of the House. He's also served in the Ohio House and as Ohio Secretary of State.

One of the most liberal members of the Senate, Brown gets a 100 per cent rating from Americans for Democratic Action. Yet he's run into criticism from environmentalists for siding with the state's coal interests against the EPA's plan to regulate carbon dioxide emissions. Brown and other Midwest lawmakers say such regulations would be a blow to manufacturing.

Brown and Mr. Feagler will discuss pollution regulation, U.S. military commitments,
prescription drug abuse, federal spending and other topics in a wide-ranging conversation.
