Feagler and Friends - Gunfire in Chardon

Journalists:

Greg Saber, Freelance Journalist; Rachel Dissell, reporter, The Plain Dealer.

A 17-year-old with a gun shot up the cafeteria at Chardon High School Monday, sending students and parents into panic then into mourning. Three students died and two more are hospitalized. Suspected shooter T.J. Lane was arrested a short time later. He's known to have had a troubled family life and had been charged with assault in the past. But nothing is known yet about what motivated him to shoot students at random. The panel will discuss how the incident unfolded and what's been learned since.

Timothy A. Dimoff, President, SACS Consulting & Investigative Services, Inc.; Pat Lyden, Executive Director & CEO, Suicide Prevention Education Alliance.

The incident at Chardon High School exposes the emotional undercurrents at play in even the most pastoral of communities and reveals again that these emotions can be acted out at any place and time. Mr. Feagler talks with experts about ways to detect and reach out to troubled teens and about protecting school children and others from the most shocking of violence.
