Zack Reed, Cleveland City Councilman. For Cleveland drivers it's 'C U' to their text messaging devices. Cleveland City Council passed a law this week sponsored by Reed to ban text messaging for operators of motor vehicles. Violators are subject to fines starting at $100. Reed says hundreds of fatalities nationwide can be traced to cell phone distractions, including text messaging. Council also passed a resolution urging the Ohio General Assembly to pass a statewide ban.

John Demjanjuk:
Seven Hills retiree John Demjanjuk came within hours of being deported to Germany to face war crimes accusations, but a federal appeals court ordered federal agents to return him home while the court considers if he is too frail to travel. The U.S. government is convinced Demjanjuk served as a guard in a Nazi death camp. Germany wants to try him on similar charges.
Medical Mart Agreement:
The Cuyahoga County Commissioners have agreed to sign a development agreement for the proposed convention center and medical mart. Final approval for the deal came just a day after two prominent business leaders, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and Indians president Paul Dolan urged the Commissioners to reconsider both the agreement and the intended Mall B site.
Graffiti Judge:
Some Cleveland residents are upset with Cuyahoga County judge Eileen Gallagher for failing to throw the book at two men accused of tagging buildings and other structures with graffiti. Police arrested the pair last year and connected them with hundreds of incidents citywide. The judge reduced charges for one, dismissed charges on the other. Dozens of residents led by Councilman Joe Cimperman rallied downtown this week to protest the judge's leniency.
