The native Clevelander owns an Olympic record that may never be matched. He's the only person to have won Olympic gold in both the 100-meter dash and the 110-meter hurdles. In 1948, he emulated his hero Jesse Owens when he was crowned the world's fastest man in London, the last time the Games were held there. Four years later, he won the hurdles at the games in Helsinki. Dillard, now 89, won a total of four gold medals.

Dimora's Sentence
Ex-Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora will spend up to 28 years in prison for his conviction on racketeering and bribery charges. In passing sentence, Judge Sara Lioi told Dimora, 'the breadth and depth of your corruption is staggering.' Despite his conviction on 32 counts, Dimora maintains his innocence and is trying to raise money for an appeal.
LaTourette to Leave
Republican Congressman Steven LaTourette of Lake County has decided not to run for re-election. He cited his frustration over partisan gridlock for leaving the 14th District seat he's held for nine terms with only token opposition. LaTourette's withdrawal leaves Republican leadership scrambling to find a replacement with about 100 days to go before the election.
Browns Deal Complete
Tennessee businessman Jimmy Haslam takes over as the new owner of the Cleveland Browns. He and former majority owner Randy Lerner completed the Browns sale less than a week after Lerner confirmed negotiations were underway. ESPN reported the deal is worth one billion dollars. Lerner assumed control of the franchise in 2002 following the death of his father, Al Lerner. The Browns reached the playoffs once in his tenure.
