Feagler and Friends - County Council Controversy

Newsmaker: Jeffrey Johnson, Cleveland City Councilman (Ward 8)

Johnson is calling for a review and possible changes in rules that allow city police officers to work private security details at downtown night spots. This comes months after a Warehouse District altercation between a young black nightclub patron and a white police officer. The patron apologized this week for his role in the incident, but the books are not yet closed. The officer is studying possible grounds for a lawsuit.

County Council Raises Questions and Eyebrows:

Kasich Refuses E-Z pass for Turnpike

Governor-elect Kasich says the time's not right to put the Ohio Turnpike in private hands, but he won't take the option off the table. Leasing the turnpike in exchange for billions in revenue was a discussion item in the 2006 campaign and it might be brought up again with state government struggling to make ends meet.

Let's Not Make a Deal-Some of President Obama's allies in the House want to rework a compromise that continued Bush-era tax cuts, trimmed the Social Security Tax and extended unemployment benefits. Democrats object to extending tax cuts for people making over $250-thousand. Income taxes for most will rise sharply unless the Congress can finalize a deal before the end of the year.
