Good health for many fortunate people is something like oxygen; you don't really notice it unless you are deprived of it. And we don't often think of public health unless there is a threat of a serious epidemic. Well, the fact that we don't think much about epidemics may be a sign that we live in a relatively healthy society. But we're in the middle of a season of cold and flu, and as a community, we don't have much to brag about. Last year, a national survey ranked Lucas County as one of the unhealthiest counties in Ohio. So, what are we doing right, what are we doing wrong -- and what do we really need to know? Joining us tonight to explore these issues is the man who has been head of the Toledo and Lucas County Health Department since 1990, Dr. David Grossman.
