Our debate this week will focus on a humdinger of a topic with local politicos on all sides reluctant to wholeheartedly support OR oppose the issue. Clearly the city would benefit from additional revenue, but in this economy can anyone afford it? Or is the better question how can we not afford it?
Mike Thompson, News Director at WOSU Public Media will be our moderator. Columbus City Councilman Andrew Ginther has bravely stepped forward to battle on behalf of the issue while perennial GOP bulldog Terry Casey will lead the contrarian camp. Allen Proctor, a municipal economist, will serve as a neural, third-party fact-checker.
