In February, Governor John Kasich offered a complete overhaul of Ohio's tax structure in his 2-year budget proposal. In his plan, Kasich proposed a cut in income tax for individuals and small businesses. He suggested lowering the sales tax but extending it to currently untaxed services. The budget also proposes for Ohio to opt into the Federal Medicaid expansion, impose a tax on oil drillers and an increase in education funding.
