City Club of Cleveland - Business as a Force for Good

The world has witnessed a 25-year trend of declining poverty in the world's poorest nations. Currently, less than one billion people live in extreme poverty, defined as having an income of $1.25 per day. In an effort to continue this trend, the World Bank and global faith community has recently put forth a bold agenda - to reduce the number of people living in extreme poverty to just 3 percent by 2030. Business, through its sourcing and foreign investment practices, can transform the quality of lives for millions of the poorest people around the world.

Join us for a conversation with Carolyn Y. Woo, Ph.D., President and CEO of Catholic Relief Services, on how, through inclusive development, focus on transparency, and commitment to metrics, we can attempt to bring about a more peaceful and prosperous world.
