City Club of Cleveland - A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper and Fairer Health Care

T.R. Reid traveled the world in order to find the answer to why the United States' national health care system lags behind all other industrialized democracies in the world. During his travels, he visited countries including France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and Canada in order to learn what made their health systems successful. Reid found that foreign health care systems are providing more choice and shorter waiting times than the U.S. He also determined that "socialized medicine" works for many countries that provide universal coverage with private doctors, hospitals, and insurance plans. Join us to hear Reid speak about his findings and the future of U.S. health care.
