The idea that alcohol consumption in moderation may have health benefits is being questioned.

A new study of existing research on health and drinking habits found no health benefits related to any level of alcohol consumption. Even moderate amounts of drinking were associated with negative health outcomes.

Orthopedic surgery has changed how many common injuries are treated. Some experts worry that such surgeries are overprescribed and maybe even ineffective compared to physical therapy.

Forty eight million people fall ill each year from salmonella, listeria, E. coli, or other foodborne bacteria or viruses.

Most, but not all, of them recover from those illnesses, but not until after experiencing some tough symptoms.
