Description
A landmark approval by the Food and Drug Administration moves the first medicine derived from marijuana closer to the market. Some of the clinical trials for the drug---which will primarily be used to treat two debilitating forms of childhood epilepsy --were held here in Ohio. We'll talk with a doctor about the potential the drug may hold and how its approval may impact the conversation around the medical use of marijuana.

Asian-American and Pacific Islanders from across Ohio are meeting today in Columbus for the annual AAPI Legislative Day. Around 300 people, representing 23 different ethnicities, from close to 80 different Ohio zip codes will gather to discuss issues that are important to them, work with legislative experts to form action groups, and visit the offices of elected officials. For Ohio the latest report card on childhood well-being delivers mixed news. We'll take a look at the numbers with our State Impact Ohio reporter. Also, it's National HIV testing day. Why the need for testing and prevention is ever present.

Guests:
- Ronald Katsuyama, Chair, 2018 AAPI Legislative Day
- Jen McMillen-Smith, social worker, MetroHealth System
- Brian Lutz, HIV Educator, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio
- Dr. Anup Patel, Chief of Neurology, Nationwide Children's Hospital
- Ashton Marra, StateImpact Ohio reporter, ideastream
