The Sound of Ideas

Description
When budgets get tight, government funding for the arts often gets squeezed. On the next Sound of Ideas, we'll talk about public subsidies for the arts. Is it an essential investment in vital to our well being, or a luxury we may have to live without? Cuyahoga County has a steady stream of arts funding from a voter-approved cigarette tax. Could that be a model for other communities worried about maintaining arts funding as other sources dry up?

Guests:

John Frohnmayer, former chairman, National Endowment for the Arts

Rosie Perez, Academy Award-nominated actress

Matt Mayer, president, Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions

Terry Stewart, president and CEO, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
