The Sound of Ideas

Description
It has been nearly a week since the horrific massacre of children and teachers in Newtown, Connecticut. The disbelief hasn't faded; tears haven't dried. We may never know why or what, if anything, would have prevented it. The tragedy has given rise to dual conversations in this country -- one about gun control and another about mental health care, particularly for those who may act violently. We invite you to engage in those conversations with us on the Sound of Ideas.

Guests:

Lori O'Neill, gun violence prevention expert

Jim Reese, Buckeye Firearms Association & Ohioans for Concealed Carry

Dan Flannery, Director, Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, Case Western Reserve University

D.J. Jaffe, Executive Director, Mental Illness Policy Organization

Kristina Ragosta, Senior Legislative & Policy Counsel , Treatment Advocacy Center
