BUDGET THAT PROTECT PEOPLE --

USE OF THE LABOR AGREEMENT,

WORKERS GET JOBS FOR THOSE JOBS
00:01:30GO TO WORKERS FROM OTHER STATES.
THERE IS A PROVISION THAT
00:01:34EXCLUDES CERTAIN TYPES OF
EMPLOYEES FROM PARTICIPATING IN
00:01:36SPECIFIC PENSION PLANS AND THERE
ARE COUNTLESS UNVENTED EFFORTS
00:01:41AT PRIVATIZATION.
WE MAINTAIN THE MIDDLE CLASS
00:01:45WORKERS WITH GOOD JOBS, GOOD
WAGES, AND GOOD BENEFITS ARE THE
00:01:47BACK ON OF OHIO'S ECONOMY.
WHEN YOU ATTACK THEM, YOU ARE

ATTACKING OHIO'S ECONOMY.

00:07:23ADDRESSED IN THIS BUDGET AND THE
LEADERSHIP THAT THE MAJORITY
00:07:30PARTY HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE
FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS IS THE
00:07:34UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION DEBT,
WHICH CONTINUES TO ADD A TAX
00:07:36BURDEN TO BUSINESSES IN OHIO.
THOSE ARE THE TYPES OF ISSUES
00:07:39THAT OHIO WANTS TO SEE US
RESOLVE IN A NONPARTISAN WAY.
00:07:45JUST LIKE IN THE 1980'S WHEN I
WAS HERE AND WE DID RESOLVE
00:07:52THOSE PROBLEMS.
OUR TAX POLICIES SHOULD NOT BE
00:07:55MORE TAX GIVEAWAYS, BUT SHOULD
BE AN EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN THE
00:07:59ECONOMY.
ANOTHER BIG ISSUE THAT IS
00:08:01IMPORTANT TO ME IS THE SEVERANCE
TAX.
00:08:02I CREDIT THE GOVERNOR FOR
CONTINUING TO TRY TO PASS THE
00:08:07SEVERANCE TAX.
I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT THE HOUSE
00:08:11HAS PULLED THAT OUT.
WE HAVE OPERA AND AMEND -- WE
00:08:16HAVE OFFERED AN AMENDMENT AND I
HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH
00:08:19INTERESTED PARTIES ON A PROPOSAL
FOR THE SEVERANCE TAX THAT I
00:08:21THINK IS A FAIR TAX THAT WILL
STILL CONTINUALLY LEAD TO GROWTH
00:08:27IN THE INDUSTRY, BUT WILL ALSO
MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE REGULATORY
00:08:33FUNDING.
WE WILL USE THE REVENUES ON A
00:08:44STATEWIDE BASIS FOR FUNDING
INFRASTRUCTURE.

THAN TAKE THE UNCERTAIN REVENUE
