Video Tribute & Acceptance Speech

The 2008 Governor's Awards for the Arts in Ohio were presented at a luncheon ceremony honoring winners and members of the Ohio Legislature. The ceremony, held in conjunction with Arts Day, was hosted by the Ohio Arts Council and Ohio Citizens for the Arts Foundation on Aptil 16, 2008 at noon at the Columbus Athenaeum in downtown Columbus.

The following individuals and organizations were honored:

- Arts Administration: Marcie Goodman, Cleveland International Film Festival

- Arts in Education: Michael Huffman, Lima City Schools

- Arts Patron: Susan Reams, Perrysburg

- Business Support of the Arts: Limited Brands, Columbus

- Community Development & Participation: Dr. Catherine Roma, MUSE, Cincinnati's Women's Choir, Umoja Men's Chorus and Voices of Freedom Choir

- Individual Artist: Dr. Burton Beerman, composer/musician, Bowling Green

- Individual Artist: Steve Free, singer/songwriter, McDermott
