Finer With Age

Description
Segment 1: The public health impact of chronic wounds is staggering - going far beyond the personal pain you might feel. It is important for all of us to know when it is time to seek specialized care. Dr. Richard Schlanger, the medical director of the Comprehensive Wound Center, shares his expertise, and Stanley Fisher, a patient at the center, shares his personal chronic wound experience with Finer with Age in this segment.

Segment 2: This April is National Donate Life Month, a time to consider being a organ donor - giving others the gift of life after you pass on. Seniors may think that they are too old to donate, but that is not true. In this segment, Marilyn Pongonis, the Director of Communications for Lifeline of Ohio, eleborates on the subject of organ donation and how there is no age limit on being a lifesaver.

Segment 3: In addition to April being Nation Donate Life Month, April 30th is Hair Stylist Appreciation Day. Dr. Keith Anderson, Assistant Professor in Social Work at the Ohio State University, has been studying the close relationships that stylists have with their clients and how these relationships might benefit older adults. Anderson joins Finer with Age in this segment to talk about the study he co-authored called "Hairstylists can help identify older clients who need health services."
