Description
Ohio, last week, joined the federal government and a growing number of states in banning TikTok from government devices due to cybersecurity concerns.

Today on Tech Tuesday, we look at why so many states are banning TikTok on government devices and what comes next.

Also, Seattle Public Schools this month filed a lawsuit against a number of major social media platforms, claiming that they exploit children and play a role in a youth mental health crisis.

The lawsuit claims that TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, SnapChat, and YouTube were designed that way.

We also discuss a new wireless charging standard unveiled at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show that is intended to improve energy efficiency, and reduce charge times while bringing wirelessly charging capabilities to more devices.

Guests:

Scottye Cash, associate professor of social work at The Ohio State University
Sarah Kreps, Director of Cornell Tech Policy Institute
Russell Holly, Managing Editor for Commerce at CNET
