All Sides with Ann Fisher

Description
Over 100,000 nurses left the profession between 2020 and 2021, marking the largest single-year decline and leading some to say our healthcare system is facing a nursing crisis.

Nurses in New York City went on a three-day strike recently to protest insufficient staffing.

We are taking a look at what's behind the nursing shortage.

Guests:

Caroline Lewis, health care reporter for WNYC and Gothamist
Patricia Pittman, professor of health policy and management & director of the Health Workforce Research Center, George Washington University
Bernadette Melnyk, dean of the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University
