Description
Abortion pills are already used in more than half of pregnancy terminations in the U.S.

Now, they will be more easily available after the Food and Drug Administration last week cleared the way for the sale of abortion pills at retail pharmacies with a prescription, but without an in-person visit to a physician. The new rule won't apply in Ohio, where state law still requires an in-person visit with a doctor.

The changes come after last year's Supreme Court decision overturning the federal right to abortion and rendering options such as the pill more important than ever.

We also talk about sepsis, new research on the condition and why it's so hard and expensive to treat.

Also in this hour, we look at how the role of a pharmacist has evolved.

Guests:

Dr. Courtney Kerestes, OB/GYN Fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health
Alexander (Sasha) Poltorak, professor of immunology, Tufts University
Jason Martinez, Chief Population Health Officer and pharmacist with Community Health & Wellness Partners
