The Groveport Log House is a two story former residence built on Main street.

The Log house consists of two buildings, one built in 1815 the other built around 1825.

To make way for a new post office in 1974 the log house had to move to its present location along Ohio-Erie Canal route.

In adjoining Groveport Cemetery a monument honors Groveport native, John S. Rarey.

Rarey was an internationally known horse trainer. Using kindness, firmness, and patience he was able to tame unmanageable horses.

Rarey's fame grew when he was able to tame a violent horse named Cruiser in only 3 hours. Cruiser was given to Rarey as a prize for taming him. After Rarey's death in 1866 Cruiser became unruly again.
