This is your Legislative Update for the week of May 11th

In the Ohio Senate, Senate Bill 30 passed. Sponsored by Senator Tavares, this bill creates the Ohio Family Stability Commission. Sponsored by Senator Hughes, Substitute Senate Bill 61 also passed. This bill restricts to whom a certified copy of a death certificate containing the decedent's social security number may be issued.

In the Ohio House of Representatives, Substitute House Bill 6 passed. Sponsored by Representatives LaTourette and Kunze, this bill increases the period of limitations for prosecution of rape or sexual battery. Sponsored by Representative Hill, House Bill 110 also passed. This bill increases the penalty for failure to stop after a traffic accident that results in death or serious physical harm. Sponsored by Representative Brenner, Substitute House Bill 74 passed. This bill makes changes to academic content standards and the administration of various assessments. House Bill 121 passed. Sponsored by Representatives Stinziano and Ruhl, this bill designates the last week of July as "Service Dog Awareness Week."
