Ohio Governor Mike DeWine hosts the Ohio Adjutant General Change of Command Ceremony, followed by a retirement ceremony for Major General John C. Harris Jr.
Governor DeWine appointed Maj. Gen. Harris to serve as Ohio's adjutant general in January 2019. During tomorrow's ceremony, Brigadier General Matthew S. Woodruff will assume the role of adjutant general, which oversees the Ohio National Guard, State Defense Force, and Ohio Cyber Reserve.
On Monday, Maj. Gen. Harris will begin serving as the director of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services, replacing Maj. Gen. (U.S. Army, retired) Deborah Ashenhurst, who retired from the agency last month.
