Segment 1: While adults age 60 and older are at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, research has shown that older adults also can be more successful at preventing or delaying the onset of the disease than all other age groups, according to the National Diabetes Education Program. Dr. Trudy Gaillard, an assistant Professor of Medicine Research with the The Ohio State University Division of Endocrinolgy, Diabetes and Metabolism, and John Fischer, Jr., the District 13F Lions, Diabetes Chairman discuss how to better understand this disease.

Segment 2: For 36 years, the Fayette County Commission on Aging has been serving meals to seniors in need across Fayette County. The senior nutrition program fills up more than just the stomachs of older folks in the area - sometimes the person who delivers their meal is the only person they will see all day. Cheryl Stockwell, the director of the Fayette County Commission on Aging, outlines the recent hard times on which the program has fallen, and how she has had to come up with creative solutions to their funding shortage.
