Feagler and Friends - Senator Sherrod Brown May 11, 2012

This episode was originally broadcast on February 3, 2012.

Brown is in the final year of his first term as Ohio's senior Senator. He's a member of the Agriculture, Appropriations, Banking and Ethics committees and chairs the subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Protection.

Brown faces a potentially tough re-election fight against his likely Republican challenger, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel who still has to win a primary in March. Both have amassed impressive campaign funds and Mandel is considered a GOP up-and-comer.

2011 was a low-key year for the U.S. Senate and the Congress in general, marked mainly by the failure of a House-Senate 'supercommittee' to come up with a fix for escalating federal deficits. Sen. Brown will talk with Mr. Feagler about hopeful signs for the U.S. auto industry, recent trade disagreements with China and the future in Iraq and Afghanistan.
