Cornerstones: - Germans in Toledo, The

In close-knit Toledo neighborhoods and on farms to the west, German immigrants helped bring this region to life. Beginning in the 1830s and continuing into the 20th century, thousands of Germans immigrated to northwest and west central Ohio, clearing the land and draining the swamp for farming, establishing businesses, and building churches that formed the hearts of their neighborhoods. WGTE TV 30 presents the story of these German settlers in the third installment of the award-winning CORNERSTONES series about the ethnic heritage of our area.
