Columbus Metropolitan Club - State of the Arts: Meet the New Leadership

Julie Henahan, Executive Director, Ohio Arts Council;
Bryan Knicely, President, Greater Columbus Arts Council
Moderated by: Kathy Fox, Executive Director, Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission

Julie Henahan, the new executive director of the Ohio Arts Council and Bryan Knicely, the new president of the Greater Columbus Arts Council have HUGE shoes to fill in replacing the beloved Wayne Lawson who retired from OAC after 30 plus years and the colorful and often controversial Ray Hanley whose untimely accidental death left the GCAC post empty months earlier than Ray's anticipated retirement.

Everyone in the community it watching to see what these new folks will do! Not much pressure there . . .

With 22 years as an arts administrator with OAC, Henahan has honed her leadership and visioning skills through a mentor relationship with former Executive Director Lawson. Her recent role in leading three important projects at OAC demonstrates her knowledge of the national arts environment.

Knicely joins GCAC from the Main Arts Commission and prior experience with the Palace Theatre in Marion, Ohio and BalletMet Columbus. With a BS from Otterbein and a MA from OSU, he's no stranger to the Columbus landscape.
