City Club of Cleveland - Peter Borré, Co-Chair, Council of Parishes

The Council of Parishes are concerned Catholics formed to support parishes
subject to closure who are seeking other options. The Council provides
forums for parishes and laity to communicate with the archdiocese about issues of concern.

Recently, Mr. Borré was integral in reversing Bishop Lennon's closing of 13 local parishes. Mr. Borré was enlisted, along with canon lawyers in Rome to argue on behalf of parishes such as St. Patrick's church in Cleveland. He was in Rome when the Vatican's Congregation for the Clergy ruled in favor of the parishioners regarding both closing procedures and canon law.

Along with St. Patrick's, other churches that appealed were St. Adalbert,
St. Barbara, St. Casimir, St. Emeric, St. Peter and St. Wendelin, all of Cleveland; St. James of Lakewood; St. Margaret Mary of South Euclid; St. Mary of Bedford; and St. John the Baptist, St. Martha and St. Mary, all of Akron.
