Attorney General Mike DeWine - Child Safety Press Conference

Play

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine releases findings on the condition of the child welfare and foster care system in Ohio. The findings come as a result of eight child safety summits held by the Attorney General that gave foster parents, former foster children, and representatives of children's services agencies the chance to speak about their perspectives.

The Attorney General outlines several specific issues of concern that resulted from the summits. A plan of action to address those concerns, including the formation of a newly established foster care advisory group, is announced.

Dauntea Sledge, a young adult who recently aged out of the foster care system without a home, shares his experiences and perspectives on the status of child welfare system in Ohio.
