Description
This week on the Reporter's Roundtable, we'll kick off the show discussing a quick change in leadership in the Ohio Department of Health. The newly appointed Director of Health, Dr. Joan Duwve, stepped down just hours after her appointment. We get the latest.

Also this hour, republicans dedicated to defeating their own party's president in November have ramped up efforts in Ohio, where polls show a tight race between President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden.

Mail in voting continues to make headlines, as citizens have requested an unprecedented number of ballots across the state. Secretary of State Frank LaRose gave a press conference on Tuesday reassuring the public that Ohio election systems are secure, but there may be delays in learning the outcomes of some tight races.

We discuss those stories and others, including the virtual return to class for Cleveland school kids, and bring you up to date on the death of Cleveland Detective James Skernivitz. He was part of the federal program Operation Legend, and was killed last week. Three teens have been charged in his shooting, and a funeral is being held today at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Downtown Cleveland.

Later in the show, we will talk with Global Cleveland president Joe Cimperman about national immigration policy and its impact on local communities, as well as local plans for National Welcoming Week, an initiative to bring together immigrants and residents to build community.

Joining us from his home studio is ideastream reporter Nick Castele, chief of our Detroit-Shoreway Bureau. From the Ohio Radio and TV statehouse news bureau in Columbus, bureau chief Karen Kasler.

Guests:
Nick Castele, Reporter, ideastream

Karen Kasler, Bureau Chief, Statehouse News Bureau

Joe Cimperman, President, Global Cleveland
