Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is joined by State Senators Jim Hughes (R-Columbus), Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) and Rep. Ross McGregor (R-Springfield) to announce legislation creating a False Claims Act, also known as a "whistleblower" protection law. The proposed legislation would encourage those with knowledge of fraud involving Ohio funds to come forward. The proposed law would also enable Ohio to take advantage of a federal provision in Medicaid fraud cases.
If the proposed state False Claims Act passes, Ohio would join 27 other states, including Florida, Virginia, and Michigan, with its own FCA.
