When the House Bill 6 scandal first began to unravel, following the federal arrests of former House Speaker Larry Householder and four others, Gov. Mike DeWine rejected repealing the bill, saying that he advocated for a balanced energy policy and that nuclear plants are a part of that.
He changed course the next day, saying that the bill should be repealed but that he still supported the policy.
