Mona Simpson, a graduate of Columbia's MFA program, is an English professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her first novel, "Anywhere But Here," was adapted into a feature film in 1999 starring Susan Sarandon and Natalie Portman. Simpson went on to write five more novels, including "Off Keck Road" and "A Regular Guy." She visits Writers Talk to discuss her latest novel, "My Hollywood," which took her 10 years to write.
