Writers Talk - Melanie Benjamin

Play

Melanie Benjamin, who started out as an author by writing about her children, wrote three novels before being published. Always an avid reader, she claims to "love to read about people's lives," so it seems fitting that she would write an historical novel about one of the world's most beloved characters in children's literature - Alice, of Wonderland.

When Benjamin learned the famous Alice was based on a real person - Alice Pleasance Liddell - she felt there was a story to tell. She visits Writers Talk to discuss her new book, "Alice I Have Been."
