Identity theft is the fastest growing white collar crime in America. Identity theft occurs when someone takes your name, social security number, credit card numbers or even bank account numbers and uses it to establish new credit, run up debts or to take over existing accounts. It is common for the problems created by identity theft to take six months or more to solve. In order to avoid the headaches associated with this crime educate yourself on the practices to prevent it.
